POONACHA ORAL ORDER The present petition is filed seeking for the following reliefs: "Wherefore, the petitioner most respectfully prays that this Hon'ble Court may be pleased to: (a) Issue a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction directing the respondents to issue/re-issue/renew the passport of the petitioner pursuant to passport file No.BNL065160956825 by recording her correct date of birth as 17.03.2000, as reflected in her birth certificate, class x/10th standard marks card and aadhaar card; (b) Issue a writ in the nature of certiorari or any other appropriate writ, order or direction, quashing the file closure letter dated 17.11.2025 bearing letter ref. no. FCL/1052311823/25 issued by respondent no.2 - regional passport office, Bengaluru, in respect of passport file no. BNL065160956825. The petitioner has made an application for renewal of passport. The same has been rejected vide communication dated 17.11.2025 (Annexure-E to the writ petition). 3. It is a case of the petitioner that the date of birth of the petitioner was given as 05.07.2000 while applying for the passport on the earlier occasion. However, the actual date of birth of the petitioner is 17.03.2000. Hence, the same is required to be entered in the passport that is to be renewed. 4. It is submitted by learned counsel for the respondent that there was suppression on behalf of the petitioner with regard to the date of birth being 05.07.2000. Accordingly, learned counsel for the respondents submits that if a fresh application is made by the petitioner the same would be considered by the authorities notwithstanding the communication dated 17.11.2025. 5.
