JUSTICE T.P.VIVEKANANDA - 3 - HC-KAR CNR: KAHC010149372024 NC: 2026:KHC:49761 WP No. 7509 of 2024 ORAL ORDER The petitioner has filed the present writ petition challenging the work order/contract dated 05.03.2024 issued by respondent No.2 in favour of respondent No.4 relating to the deployment of security personnel for the benefit of respondent No.2. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the contract awarded was for a period of 2 years with effect from 11.03.2024 to 11.03.2026. The duration of contract has elapsed. However, the fresh tender Notification for availing the contract of security services is not notified and therefore, necessary direction may be issued to respondent No. 2 to issue fresh tender Notification. 3. Learned counsel for respondent No.2 submits that the tender conditions provides for extension of contract for a further period of one year upon expiry of the initial term contract and accordingly, the contract in favour of respondent No.4 has been extended for another period of one year which would come to an end in the month of March, 2027. - 4 - HC-KAR CNR: KAHC010149372024 NC: 2026:KHC:49761 WP No. 7509 of 2024 4. Taking note of the said submission, this Court is of the view that the prayer sought in the writ petition does not survive for consideration. However, it is needless to observe that once the extended period of contract comes to an end in the month of March, 2027, respondent No.2 is required to issue fresh tender Notification for procuring the services of security personnel, in accordance with law.
