Affidavit-of-service, filed today in Court, is taken on record. Mr. Saumyen Datta, learned Advocate appears for the petitioners. Mr. Ajit Kr. Mishra, learned Additional Government Pleader appears for the alleged contemnors. In course of the hearing Mr. Ajit Kr. Mishra learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the alleged contemnors placed a reasoned order dated August 24, 2026 passed by the jurisdictional District Magistrate,
2 Hooghly whereunder the compensation against the subject land was quantified and calculated at a sum of Rs.1,52,728/- . The reasoned order is taken on record. Copy has been served upon the learned Advocate appearing for the petitioners in Court today. Learned Advocate for the petitioners submits that, the quantification is not in accordance with law and is too small considering the area of land acquired by the State and the value attached with it in accordance with law. In view of the above, if the petitioners feel aggrieved with the said impugned order bearing Memo No.3695/P & RD dated August 24, 2026 and fixation of quantum of compensation, petitioners shall be at liberty to challenge the same strictly in accordance with law, if so advised. With the above observation this contempt proceeding, CPAN 493 of 2026 stands dropped and closed. The application, CPAN 493 of 2026 stands disposed of.
