1. Pursuant to the order dated 21.08.2026, the alleged contemnor no. 2 has filed an affidavit of compliance. A copy of the same be taken on record. From the said compliance as mentioned in paragraph 7 & 8, thereof, it appears that the order dated 9.4.2026 has already been complied with. The relevant paragraph are reproduced below:
“7. Accordingly, the Regional Transport Authority, Kolkata has decided to reject the proposal for formulation of the new Auto-Rickshaw route from Ramkrishna Mahashmashan Ghat to Dum Dum Station via Ratanbabu Ghat Road, Gopal Chatterjee Road and Gobinda Mondal Lane.
8. It is, however, recorded that the aforesaid decision shall be without prejudice to the power and jurisdiction of the competent authority to consider
2 any fresh proposal or any subsequent modification of the proposed alignment, if made in accordance with law and supported by appropriate traffic, road-2idth and feasibility assessments, subject to compliance with the applicable provisions of the West Bengal Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 and the directions of the Hon’ble Court.”
2. Let the Affidavit-of-compliance filed on behalf of the respondent no. 4/alleged contemnor today be kept with the records.
3. In view of the aforesaid compliance, this court is of the opinion that no further proceeding in the contempt application is required.
4. Contempt application stands disposed of.
5. The Contempt Rule if any stands discharged.
6. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
