1. The petitioner has approached this Court with a prayer for payment of balance arrears of salary, to which she is entitled in view of the punishment given in the disciplinary proceedings being altered by way of punishment of censure.
2. As fairly submitted by Mr. Roy Chowdhury, learned Additional Government Pleader, on instructions, a copy whereof is kept on record, that the petitioner is indeed entitled to a sum of Rs. 1,08,293/- on account of arrear pay for the period July 2016 to March 2021.
3. At the same time, it cannot be glossed over that the petitioner had also not produced the requisite non- drawal certificate and approached the Court only in
2026. However, the period between July 2016 to March 2021 cannot be ignored as she was entitled to receive arrear of salary for the afore-stated period.

4. In view thereof, on the submissions of Mr. Roy Chowdhury, it is recorded that the authorities will pay the principal sum of Rs. 1,08,293/- by September 24, 2026.
5. The authorities will also pay a consolidated sum on account of interest, which has been assessed at Rs. 50,000/- at base minimum rate of 6% as given on fixed deposits for the period. The payment on account of interest shall be made to the petitioner by October 12, 2026.
6. With the afore-stated directions, the writ petition is disposed of.
7. There shall, however, be no order as to costs.
8. Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties on priority basis.
