2026:JHHC:8277 IN THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND AT RANCHI B.A. No. 2377 of 2026 Komal Ganjhu --- --- Petitioner Versus The State of Jharkhand --- --- Opposite Party --- CORAM: HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE RONGON MUKHOPADHYAY --- For the Petitioner : Mr. K.K. Ojha, Adv. For the O.P. : A.P.P. --- 02/24.03.2026 Heard Mr. K.K. Ojha, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned A.P.P. The prayer for bail of the petitioner was earlier rejected twice in B.A. No. 2733 of 2025 and B.A. No. 8814 of 2025. It appears that from the joint possession of the petitioner and the other co-accused persons, 410 gms. of brown sugar was recovered. So far as the petitioner is concerned, 20 gms. of brown sugar was recovered. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the F.S.L. report indicates that the recovered narcotics was opium. Learned counsel further submits that he is in custody since 27.10.2024. Learned A.P.P. has opposed the prayer for bail of the petitioner. Although, it has been stated that the petitioner has two criminal antecedents of similar nature but in one case he has already been acquitted. However, regard being had to the fact that the petitioner has an antecedent with respect to a similar nature of offence, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. The same is hereby rejected at this stage. This application stands rejected. (Rongon Mukhopadhyay, J.) Dated- 24th March, 2026. Amar/- Uploaded on:26/03/2026.
