1. At the very outset the learned advocate for the petitioner would submit that affidavit of service is yet to be affirmed, however, he undertakes to file the same in course of the day.
2. The instant writ petition has been filed, seeking for a direction upon the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) Tribunal to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner bearing EPIC number RNL 3320546 within a specified time frame.
3. Ms. Pandey, learned advocate appearing for the Election Commission of India submits that there are large number of appeals pending before the Tribunal and the appeals are being disposed of by the Tribunal on day to day basis.
WPA 1668 of 2026 2
4. Having heard the learned advocates appearing for the respective parties and noting from the statement made in the petition that the petitioner is a shortlisted candidate for recruitment of agniveers (general Duty), and since according to the petitioner’s police verification has been withheld by reasons of his name being removed from the electoral role, I am of the view in the peculiar facts, it would only be appropriate to request the Tribunal to decide the appeal on an expeditious basis preferably within a period of three weeks from the date of communication of this order.
5. It is made clear that this Court has not entered into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner in the said appeal, all points are left open to be decided by the Appellate Tribunal in accordance with law.
6. With the above observation, the writ petition is disposed of.
7. There shall be no order as to costs.
8. The parties are to act on the basis of the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
