ORAL ORDER
1. Accused Nos.1, 2, 5, 6 and 8 to 10 in Crime No.212/2026 registered by Suryanagar Police Station, Bengaluru, for the offences punishable under Sections 189(2), 191(2), 191(3), 115(2), 118(2), 352, 351(2) and 190 of BNS, 2023, are before this Court in this petition filed under Section 482 of BNSS, 2023, seeking anticipatory bail. 2. Heard the learned counsel for the parties. 3. FIR in Crime No.212/2026 was registered by Suryanagar Police Station, Bengaluru, for the aforesaid offences against the petitioners herein and others based on the first information dated 08.07.2026 received from Sudarshan, who is the alleged

victim in the present case. Apprehending arrest in the case, petitioners had filed Crl.Misc.No.5378/2026 and Crl.Misc.No.5386/2026, which were dismissed as against them. Therefore, they are before this Court. 4. Injured victim, who is the first informant, claims to be the Vice President of Human Rights Protection Committee. He allegedly got acquainted to accused No.1 and his family members through a common friend known as Ravi. After coming to know that the house of accused No.1 was being brought for sale by a bank, first informant allegedly helped accused No.1 financially. 5. A reading of the first information would reveal that first informant subsequently developed intimacy with the daughter of accused No.1 and it appears that therefore, accused persons were suspecting the first informant. On the alleged date of incident, wife of accused No.1 allegedly had asked first informant to come near their house and thereafter, all the accused persons had abused and assaulted him with weapons and caused injuries. In respect of the alleged incident that had

taken place on 04.07.2026 at about 08.10 p.m., first information is belatedly submitted on 08.07.2026, which is after a delay of more than four days.
Considering the background in which the incident in question had taken place and also the inordinate delay in approaching the police, I am of the opinion that the prayer made by the petitioners for grant of anticipatory bail needs to be answered affirmatively. Accordingly, the following order:-
6. The petition is allowed. The respondent - Police or any other police in the State of Karnataka are directed to release the petitioners in the event of their arrest in Crime No.212/2026 registered by Suryanagar Police Station, Bengaluru, for the offences punishable under Sections 189(2), 191(2), 191(3), 115(2), 118(2), 352, 351(2) and 190 of BNS, 2023, subject to the following conditions:
1. The Petitioners shall appear before the Investigating Officer within 15 days from the date of receipt of the copy of this order and shall execute a personal bond for a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- each with two sureties for the likesum to the satisfaction of the investigating officer. - 6 -

2. Petitioners shall regularly appear before the Trial Court without fail unless exempted by the Trial Court for valid reasons. 3. Petitioners shall not tamper with the prosecution witnesses and they shall co-operate with the police for investigation and appear before them whenever called upon. 4.
