Accused Nos.1 to 3 are before this Court in this petition filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C. with a prayer to quash the entire proceedings in Crime No.195/2022 registered by Basavanagudi Women Police Station, Bengaluru, for the offences punishable under Sections 498A and 506 of IPC and - 3 - HC-KAR CNR: KAHC010069852023 NC: 2026:KHC:50039 CRL.P No. 2098 of 2023 Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961, as against them. 2. Heard. 3. Learned counsel for respondent No.2, who has filed certain documents along with a memo, submits that accused No.1 and respondent No.2, who are husband and wife have inter se settled their dispute and their marriage is now dissolved in view of the settlement that was reported in OS No.194/2020 before the jurisdictional Court of Family Judge, Bengaluru. She submits that in the compromise petition that was filed in OS No.194/2020, there is an undertaking given by respondent No.2 to withdraw the present case and therefore, prayer made in this petition may be granted. 4. The submission made by learned counsel for respondent No.2 and the documents produced by her along with memo are taken on record. In view of the aforesaid, the following order:- 5. The criminal petition is allowed. The entire proceedings in Crime No.195/2022 registered by Basavanagudi Women Police - 4 - HC-KAR CNR: KAHC010069852023 NC: 2026:KHC:50039 CRL.P No. 2098 of 2023 Station, Bengaluru, for the offences punishable under Sections 498A and 506 of IPC and Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961, is hereby quashed as against petitioners.
