1. The affidavit-of-service filed by the petitioner be kept with the record.
2. The petitioner has filed the present writ application for a direction upon the passport authorities for renewal of the passport. The petitioner has submitted an application before the passport authorities for renewal of the passport but the passport authorities have not renewed the passport on the ground that a criminal case is pending.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the criminal case has been initiated in the year 2019 and since then the criminal case is pending but in the meantime the petitioner has applied for renewal of the passport and the passport authorities have renewed the passport of the petitioner from December 8, 2025 to December 7, 2026. Now the employer of the petitioner is directing the petitioner to obtain the passport for long period but the passport authorities have not allowing the petitioner to obtain the passport for the long period.

4. It is further contention of the petitioner that the petitioner has filed an application for renewal of the passport but the same is pending before the passport authorities.
5. This Court finds that a criminal case is pending against the petitioner since the year 2019 and the petitioner is facing the trial before the Criminal Court. Accordingly, it would not be appropriate for this Court to pass any order upon the passport authorities for renewal of the passport of the petitioner pending the criminal case.

The petitioner is given liberty to approach before the Criminal Court for obtaining no objection from the Criminal Court and if any application is filed by the petitioner before the Criminal Court, the learned Trial Court shall consider the application filed by the petitioner and to dispose of the same as early as possible within a period of two weeks after receipt of the application.
7. WPA 24522 of 2026 is disposed of.
8. Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all the necessary formalities.
