Heard Mr. K.S. Kharshiing, learned counsel, who has submitted that the applicant has preferred an appeal before this Court, against the impugned judgment and order dated 27.03.2026 passed by the Court of learned Special Judge (POCSO), Mawkyrwat in Special POCSO Case No.11 of 2021. 2. However, while preferring an appeal, a delay of 30 days has occurred, the reason being that the applicant belongs to a poor and illiterate family with no knowledge of the legal procedure for filing an appeal and that he required time to seek legal advice and arrange for the engagement of competent counsel. Further, the applicant did not possess proper case records, as they had already been obtained by the co-convict for filing his separate appeal. Consequently, the applicant had to apply for certified copies of the judgment and other relevant documents from this Hon'ble High Court, which were received on 08.06.2026, resulting in the delay. It is therefore, prayed that the delay be condoned and the appeal be admitted. 3. Mr. N.D. Chullai, learned AAG appearing for the State- respondents has no objection to the prayer for condonation of delay. 4. On consideration of the submission made, we find that there are good grounds for the appeal to be heard on merits.
