In this writ petition, the petitioners have challenged the order dated 07.12.2023 at Annexure-A passed by respondent No.2. 3. It is the case of the petitioners that the great-grandfather of the petitioners acquired the land in question in the year 1923 and that the petitioners came to know about the change of khata subsequently. Accordingly, the petitioners have challenged the impugned order. 4. Having heard the learned counsel appearing for the parties and upon careful consideration of the - 5 - HC-KAR CNR: KAHC010285552026 NC: 2026:KHC:48471 WP No. 13294 of 2026 material on record, it is evident that the great- grandfather of the petitioners had acquired the land in question in the year 1923. Even after a period of 99 years, change of khata was not effected in respect of the land in question in favour of the petitioners or his predecessors-in-interest. 5. In view of the same, this Court is of the opinion that the petitioners are required to establish their right, title and interest over the property in question in a manner known to law.
