In terms of the order dated 02.05.2026 the application is allowed. The Court has directed the applicant/petitioner to execute indemnity bond for Rs.10,00,000/- and also directed the petitioner to furnish cash surety of Rs.2,50,000/-. 5. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that direction to deposit cash surety of Rs.2,50,000/- is unjustified. Learned counsel for the petitioner would further submit that there is no justification in directing the petitioner to deposit 1/4th of the value of the goods seized. 6. Learned High Court Government Pleader does not dispute the fact that there is no such mandate to furnish the cash security. 7. The Court also does not find any justification to direct the petitioner to deposit Rs.2,50,000/- which is 25% of the value of the goods seized. 8. The impugned order is modified partly. Instead of furnishing cash security of Rs.2,50,000/- the petitioner shall furnish independent surety for Rs.2,50,000/-.
