This bail application has been filed under Sections 483 and 484 of the BNSS, 2023 wherein, prayer has been made for grant of bail as the petitioner is in custody for allegedly committing offences punishable under Sections 308(2)/308(4)/308(5) of the BNS, 2023. 2. Heard, the learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel for the State and have also gone through the impugned order. 3. The learned APP opposes the prayer for grant of bail. 4. Prosecution story as per the informant is that on 24.10.2025, he received a WhatsApp call demanding Rs.5 Lakhs as extortion with threats to his life and family. Initially treating it as a prank, he blocked the number, but later found a threatening poster in the name of Niraj Sahu (Gangster) at his house and received further calls from another number. Under pressure, when he expressed inability to pay, the demand was reduced to Rs.20,000/-. Out of fear, he paid Rs.2000/- in cash to two unknown persons near Jangli College, Damodar River, who asked him to pay the remaining amount later. 5. The charge has already been framed in this case. The petitioner is in custody since 03.11.2025. The material against the petitioner is that he facilitated sharing of the victim’s mobile number with other co-accused persons. Because of the said sharing, the rangdari was demanded from the informant. 6. Considering the aforesaid facts, I am inclined to grant 2026:JHHC:8211 2 bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, the petitioner, named above, is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of the learned J.M.-XXXII, Ranchi in connection with Khelari P.S. Case No.76 of 2025 subject to the condition that one of the bailors should be close relative of the petitioner having sufficient landed property in his/her own name within the State of Jharkhand, with a further condition that the petitioner shall appear and mark his attendance before the Registrar, Civil Court, Ranchi once in a month till the disposal of the trial. 7.
