The petitioner’s representation seeking release of his terminal dues on attaining his normal age of superannuation on 30th November, 2024 is pending consideration before the Jadavpur University. 2. On lien, the petitioner joined Kaji Nazrul University as its Vice Chancellor on and from 20th April, 2015 to 26th May, 2023. He reverted back to his previous post of Professor, Department of Philosophy in the Jadavpur University on and from 27th May, 2023 and retired on 30th November, 2024. His terminal dues have not been paid till date. 3. Prayer has been made to direct Jadavpur University to release his terminal dues. 4. It appears that the petitioner filed series of representations and the last of which was filed before the Jadavpur University on 17th February, 2026 which is pending consideration. 2 5. Without entering into the merit of the prayer of the petitioner, as it appears that the representation of the petitioner for releasing his terminal dues is pending consideration before the Vice Chancellor, Jadavpur University, accordingly, no useful purpose will be served by keeping the writ petition pending. 6. The instant writ petition stands disposed of by directing the Vice Chancellor, Jadavpur University, being the respondent no.8 herein, or his authorized representative to take a decision on the petitioner’s prayer strictly in accordance with law at the earliest but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order. 7. If the prayer of the petitioner is allowed, then necessary consequential steps shall be taken for releasing payment. 8. If the prayer of the petitioner is disallowed by the authority, then a reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to the petitioner without any further delay. 9. The writ petition stands disposed of. 10. All parties shall act on the basis of a server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. 11. Certified server copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties on compliance of all requisite formalities. (Amrita Sinha, J.)
