In terms of order dated 12th August, 2026 a report is filed by the Officer-in-Charge, Shyampur Police Station, Howrah dated 24th August, 2026 and same is taken on record. Copy of report is made over to learned advocate representing petitioner. 2. By furnishing report today it is disclosed that land which is being used as pathway by local residents solely does not belong to petitioner but part of such land belongs to petitioner as it was communicated by Block Land and Land Reforms Officer, Shyampur-1, Howrah to the concerned police authorities. 3. Police authority is not the appropriate authority to demarcate land in question. For the purpose of asserting right of the petitioner 2 over his land in question demarcation of land is necessary. 4. Petitioner shall be at liberty to approach appropriate authority/forum for demarcation of land in question. Concerned police authorities are directed to maintain peace and tranquility at the locale and to see that no untoward incident takes place. 5. Writ petition stands disposed of. 6.
