1. Ms. Sudipa Banerjee and Ms. Manisha Paswan, learned advocates, who usually appear for the State, are requested to represent the State in this matter. Let their appointment be regularized by the Office of the learned Government Pleder.
2. The writ petitioners have filed a instant writ petition claiming to be the Bargadars of a land situated in the L. R. Plot No.2440, Area 29 decimals out of 58 decimals. Plot No. 2459 area 74. 5 decimals out of 149 decimals, LR Plot No. 2461, area 34 decimals out of 68 decimals and LR Plot No.2462, area 23 decimals out of 46 decimals, total area 160.5 decimals, situated in Mouja Kankandighi, J.L. No. 112, Police Station-Raidighi, District-South 24 Parganas appertaining to LR Khatian No.2697.

3. It is the case of the writ petitioners that the respondent nos. 6 to 9 have threatened the rights of the petitioners over the said land and accordingly it has been prayed that necessary orders be passed ensuring the petitioners’ rights of possession to the said land be protected.
4. It appears that the instant writ petition is pending for two years and the complaint lodged with the police station is dated 22.03.2024.
5. In view of the aforesaid, the instant writ petition is disposed of granting liberty to the writ petitioners to approach the local police station to redress their grievances, if any.
6. In the event, such complaint is lodged and discloses cognizable offences, appropriate steps in accordance with law shall be taken by the Officer-in-Charge of the concerned police station.
7. It is made clear that this Court has not gone into the merits of this case and the rights of the petitioners.
8. There will be no order as to costs.
9. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
