The issue involved in this petition is regarding grant of compensation to the landowners whose lands were acquired by way of agreements/sale deeds and the compensation was granted under the provisions of Repealed Land Acquisition Act, 1894, but subsequently, the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 came into force. The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that, in similar circumstances, the landowners were given the benefits under the said Act. 3. Be that as it may, at this stage, it would not be appropriate to comment anything on the merits of the case. It is for the respondent no. 3 to take appropriate call. In that view of the matter, we direct that the present petition be treated as a representation and same be decided by the respondent no. 3, in accordance with law, within a period of 2026:BHC-NAG:10718-DB 2 105) WP 6324-26.odt eight weeks from the receipt of a copy of this order along with a copy of the petition. 4. The decision taken be communicated to the petitioners within a week thereafter. 5. The learned counsel for the petitioners undertakes to produce a copy of this order along with a copy of the petition before the respondent no. 3, within a week from today. 6.
