Mr. Shubhang Dobhal, Advocate for the petitioner. 2. Mr. S.S. Lingwal, Advocate for the respondents. 3. Petitioner’s father late Uday Bhan Singh was employed as Book Binder on regular basis in G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, who died on 15.10.2018. After death of petitioner’s father, his brother Tejendra Singh applied for compassionate appointment, and ultimately, he was appointed as Lab Assistant in the University, vide order dated 17.8.2021. Unfortunately, petitioner’s brother Tejendra Singh also passed away on 20.3.2022. 4. Petitioner thereafter applied for compassionate appointment. Petitioner’s mother also gave NOC for petitioner’s appointment on compassionate ground. The joint application made by petitioner and his mother is pending consideration before the University since 2022. 5. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the inaction on the part of the University authorities in taking decision on the application is unjust and uncalled for. 6. Mr. S.S. Lingwal, learned counsel appearing for the University assures the Court that the application, if not already decided, then decision thereupon shall be 2026:UHC:217 taken within six weeks from the date of presentation of certified copy of this order. 7. The writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of with direction to the Vice Chancellor of the University to take decision on the pending application of the petitioner, within six weeks from the date of presentation of certified copy of this order before him.
