ORAL ORDER
1. The present writ petition is filed seeking for the following reliefs: ”a) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the Respondents to consider the application dated 29.12.2025 and reissue the passport of the minor child, Ms. Neysha Goswami, applied by the Petitioner vide Annexure-A.
b) Pass such other order or orders as this Hon’ble Court deems fit in the facts and circumstances of the case, in the interest of justice and equity."
2. The petitioner is aggrieved by the non consideration of the renewal application of the passport of her minor daughter pursuant to the application dated 29.12.2025 made to respondent No.2. The application for renewal was not acceded Digitally Signed by CHEPPUDIRA MONNAPPA POONACHA

to in view of the objection by the father of the minor child, who was the husband of the petitioner.

Learned counsel for respondent Nos.1 and 2 submits that the application for renewal of the passport was not considered in view of the authorities receiving an objection from the father of the minor child.
4. Subsequent to filing of the present writ petition, the father of the minor child has addressed an e-mail and letter, both dated 03.08.2026 whereunder, he has indicated his no objection in considering the application for renewal of the passport of the minor child.

Learned counsel for respondent Nos.1 and 2 submits that since the father, who had earlier objected for consideration of the renewal application of the minor child, now indicating his no objection for the same, appropriate orders will be passed by the concerned authorities.
6. In view of the same, the second respondent shall consider the application made for renewal of the passport of the minor child, as expeditiously as possible, in any event, not Digitally Signed by CHEPPUDIRA MONNAPPA POONACHA

later than two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this
order.
7. The writ petition is disposed of in the aforementioned terms.
