Rakesh Kainthla, Judge The petitioner has 昀椀led the present petition for quashing of FIR No. 90 of 2023, dated 12.9.2023, registered for the commission of o昀昀ences punishable under Sections 452 and 504 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), at Police Station, Mehatpur, District Una, H.P. and consequent proceedings arising out of the said FIR. It has been asserted that the FIR was lodged due to 1 Whether reporters of Local Papers may be allowed to see the judgment? Yes. 2 some misunderstanding. The matter has been compromised between the parties and the informant does not want to proceed further with the matter after the compromise. Hence the petition. 2. The statement of the informant/victim, Kulveer Kaur, was recorded on 28.11.2025, in which she stated that she had entered into a compromise with the accused voluntarily without any in昀氀uence from any person and had no objection in case the FIR is ordered to be quashed based on the compromise e昀昀ected between the parties. 3. Heard. 4. The o昀昀ence punishable under Section 504 of IPC is compoundable under Section 320 of Cr.P.C. This Court has already quashed the F.I.R. registered for the commission of an o昀昀ence punishable under Section 452 of IPC in Prashant Dharmani & others vs. State of H.P. & others 2023(1) Him.L.R.241, Ameen vs State of H.P. & others 2023(1) Him L.R.375, Avinash Singh Rana vs State of H.P. & others 023 STPL 3181 H.P and Chaman Lal vs. State of H.P. Latest HLJ 2023(HP) (1)213 based on compromise. These judgments are binding on this Court. 3

Therefore, in view of these precedents, the present petition is allowed and the FIR No. 90 of 2023, dated 12.9.2023, registered for the commission of o昀昀ences punishable under Sections 452 and 504 of the IPC at Police Station, Mehatpur, District Una, H.P. is quashed. 6. Consequent upon the quashing of the FIR, criminal proceedings pending/initiated against the petitioner/accused in pursuance thereto be also quashed. 7.
Petition stands disposed of in the above terms, so also pending applications, if any. 8. Parties are permitted to produce a copy of this judgment, downloaded from the webpage of the High Court of Himachal Pradesh before the authorities concerned, and the said authorities shall not insist on the production of a certi昀椀ed copy but if required, may verify passing of the order from the website of the High Court.
