1. Affidavit of service filed in Court today is taken on record.
2. This writ petition seeks expeditious disposal of an application under Section 14 of the Securitization and Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Security Interest Act, 2002 pending before the learned District Magistrate at Howrah since July 24, 2025.
3. None appears for the State despite service however, Mr. Sourav Sengupta to usual appears for the State and is representing the State in WPA 23275 of 2026 (South Indian Bank Limited Vs. The State of West Bengal & Anr.) which is very next item, Mr. Sengupta is requested of non appearance on behalf of the State his engagement to be regularised.
4. Having heard the learned advocates appearing for the petitioner and the State and having considered the material on record, this writ petition is disposed
2 of by directing the learned District Magistrate at Howrah to dispose of the petitioner’s application under Section 14 of the 2002 Act as expeditiously as possible, and preferably within a period of one month from the date of communication of this order in accordance with law.
5. Accordingly, WPA 23275 of 2026 stands disposed of. No Costs.
6. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties subject to compliance with all requisite formalities.
