Ct. No. 18
Ab
WPA 16626 of 2025
Priyanka Mondal Vs. The State of West Bengal and others. ---------------
Mr. Sayan Banerjee, Ms. Suparna Dutta. … for the petitioner.
Ms. Aparna Banerjee, Ld. AGP, Mr. Arijit Bhowmick. … for the State.
1. The affidavit of service filed today is taken on record.
2. The petitioner is aggrieved that her application for transfer has not been considered by the authorities.
3. The concerned authority by his order of May 28, 2025 has rightly indicated that since the petitioner is seeking a transfer, which is beyond the territorial jurisdiction of the District Magistrate, Bankura, he is not the designated authority to effect such transfer.
4. In fact, the petitioner in terms of such order of the District Magistrate, Bankura, has approached the Secretary, Backward Classes Welfare and Tribal Development, by way of a representation dated June 24, 2025 seeking a transfer.
5. It appears that the said representation has not yet been considered by the concerned authority, the respondent no. 2 herein.
6. In view thereof, the respondent no. 2 is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner within a
2
period of six weeks from date after giving prior notice and giving hearing to the petitioner. The resultant
order will be communicated to the petitioner within a week thereafter.
7. With the afore-stated directions, the writ petition is
disposed of.
8. There shall, however, be no order as to costs.
9. Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties on priority basis.
