ORAL ORDER
1. Accused Nos.2 and 3 in Crime No.379/2026 registered by Hebbagodi Police Station, Bengaluru, for the offences punishable under Sections 80, 85 read with Section 3(5) of BNS, 2023, are before this Court in this petition filed under Section 482 of BNSS, 2023, seeking anticipatory bail. 2. Heard the learned counsel for the parties. 3. FIR in Crime No.379/2026 was registered by Hebbagodi Police Station, Bengaluru, for the aforesaid offences against Sayed Iliyas and the petitioners herein based on the first information dated 18.07.2026 received from Dadapeer, brother of deceased Naghma Banu, who is the wife of accused No.1. Apprehending arrest in the case, petitioners had filed Crl.Misc.No.5385/2026 before the jurisdictional Sessions Court

which was rejected on 30.07.2026. Therefore, they are before this Court. 4.
Material on record would go to show that marriage of accused No.1 with Naghma Banu was performed on 22.10.2023 at Harihara in Davangere District. A reading of the first information would reveal that in the month of April, 2025, accused No.1, who is a driver by avocation had purchased a car out of the money that was given to him as dowry and was residing with his wife in a rented premises at Shikaripalya within the jurisdiction of Hebbagodi Police Station, Bengaluru. The allegation against accused No.1 is that he was in the habit of ill treating his wife in furtherance of his demand for further dowry. It is also alleged that whenever Naghma Banu used to visit her in-laws' house in Harihara at Davangere, even they used to ill-treat her and demand further dowry. Naghma Banu had committed suicide in her house at Shikaripalya within the jurisdiction of Hebbagodi Police Station, Bengaluru on 17.07.2026 by hanging herself. It is under these circumstances, FIR was registered against Sayed Iliyas and his parents, who are the petitioners herein. Considering the nature

of allegations found against the petitioners, which is omnibus in nature and also the fact that they are residents of Harihara, in Davanagere and the deceased and her husband were residing in Bengaluru, I am of the opinion that their prayer for grant of anticipatory bail needs to be answered affirmatively. Accordingly, the following order:-
5. The petition is allowed. The respondent - Police or any other police in the State of Karnataka are directed to release the petitioners in the event of their arrest in Crime No.379/2026 registered by Hebbagodi Police Station, Bengaluru, for the offences punishable under Sections 80, 85 read with Section 3(5) of BNS, 2023, subject to the following conditions:
1. The Petitioners shall appear before the Investigating Officer within 15 days from the date of receipt of the copy of this order and shall execute a personal bond for a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- each with two sureties for the likesum to the satisfaction of the investigating officer.

2. Petitioners shall regularly appear before the Trial Court without fail unless exempted by the Trial Court for valid reasons. 3. Petitioners shall not tamper with the prosecution witnesses and they shall co-operate with the police for investigation and appear before them whenever called upon. 4.
