JUSTICE A. GUNESHWAR SHARMA O R D E R 11-05-2026 [1] Heard Mr. N. Jotendro, learned senior counsel assisted by Md. Syed Murtaza Ahmed, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr. Th. Vashum, learned Government Advocate for the State respondents. [2] The 18 petitioners are working as Hindi Primary Teachers on contract basis and by the present writ petition, they pray for directions to the respondents to allow them to continue in service till they are provided an opportunity to appear in the next Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) examination, for release of unpaid wages/salaries w.e.f. September, 2025 till date and for conduct of TET examination within a reasonable time. The 18 petitioners have also submitted separate representations dated 06-03-2026, 09-03- 2026 and 10-03-2026 for allowing to continue in services as Hindi Primary Teachers on contract basis till their appearance in TET examination and for release of their wages. It is submitted that the representations are pending before the competent authority and the learned senior counsel for the WP(C) No. 252 of 2026 & MC(WP(C)) No. 273 of 2026 petitioners submits that the writ petition may be disposed of by directing the respondents, especially respondent No. 2, i.e. Director, Education (S), Manipur to dispose of the representations submitted by the petitioners by a speaking order within a stipulated time. [3] Mr. Th. Vashum, learned Government Advocate for the State respondents, submits that the State respondents want to file counter affidavit but for a limited prayer of the petitioners for disposing of the representations, this Court may pass an appropriate order. [4] Considering the submissions made at the Bar, this Court is of the view that the writ petition may be disposed of by directing respondent No. 2, i.e. Director, Education (S), Manipur to dispose of the representations submitted by the petitioners [Annexure-A/4 (Series)] by a speaking order as per law within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. [5] It is made clear that this Court does not express any opinion on the merit of the case. [6] The writ petition is disposed of in terms of the above direction.
