The petitioner is aggrieved that in spite of an order dated 03.01.2024, by the West Bengal Administrative Tribunal passed in OA/449/2023, the respondent no. 2 has not yet considered his application for compassionate appointment. 2. The petitioner is the son of a former employee who died-in-harness on March 21, 2021. 3. The petitioner had thereafter made an application to the Block Medical Officer of Health, Lodhan Rural Hospital, Goalpokher-I Block. 4. The said application, made sometime in 2021, has not yet been considered in spite of an order by the West Bengal State Administrative Tribunal in 2024 to dispose of the same within a period of 12 weeks. 5. The respondent no. 2 is given one last opportunity to dispose of this application of the petitioner within a period of two weeks from date and decide whether the petitioner is entitled to compassionate appointment or not. P a g e | 2 6. If found eligible, the petitioner will be granted compassionate appointment in accordance with law. 7. In any event, the resultant order will be communicated to the petitioner within a period of 7 days thereafter. 8. With the afore-stated directions, the writ petition is disposed of.
