JUSTICE RAJESH MAZUMDAR ORDER 20.03.2026 Heard Mr. D.K. Medhi, learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard Mr. K.K. Parasar, learned APP for the State. This application has been filed under Section 482 of the BNSS, 2023, praying for granting pre-arrest bail to the accused/petitioner, namely, Arbind Page No.# 2/2 Goyari, in connection with Sootea PS Case No. 143/2016, under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, read with Section 27(3) of the Arms Act, corresponding to GR Case No. 2726/2012. The petitioner has appeared before Sootea Police Station and before the Investigating Authority therein, as well as before the CID officials in connection with the case, pursuant to the privilege of interim bail granted to him. The learned APP has produced the case diary. Upon perusal of the same, this Court is of the opinion that custodial interrogation of the petitioner is not necessary at this stage. Accordingly, the interim protection granted to the petitioner on 19.02.2026 is hereby made absolute. However, the petitioner shall appear before the Investigating Authority as well as before the learned trial Court as and when called for. This AB disposed of. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
