Prayer in this petition, filed under Section 482 of the BNSS, 2023 (earlier Section 438 Cr.P.C.), is for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner, who has been booked in a criminal case arising out FIR No.16 dated 07.08.2026, registered under Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018, at Police Station Vigilance Bureau, District Ferozepur (Punjab). 2. Complainant-Ankul Sidhu got recorded FIR with the recording of his statement to the effect that quarrel took place between him and his neighbour Bashir, on the basis of which FIR No.108 dated 31-08-2024 u/s 332(c), 115(2), 351(2) and 190 BNS has been registered against him and his family members on the basis of statement of Reeta wife of Pritpal. A cross case has been registered against Bashir and Reeta on the statement of the complainant. The complainant asked ASI Pargat Singh to dispose of the cases on the basis of compromise effected between the parties. ASI Pargat Singh demanded bribe for disposing of REENA 2026.08.27 20:27 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document CRM-M-48218-2026 the cases and took Rs.25000/- from the complainant and Rs.10,000/- from Bashir. In the month of June, 2026 the complainant met ASI Pargat Singh and requested him to dispose of the cases, ASI Pargat Singh told him regarding the name of Vansh son of Bashir in cross case and told him to produce Vansh or declare him to be PO and told him to give Rs.10,000/- from Bashir. The complainant got recorded the said conversation in his mobile phone. The duration of the audio clip is of 7 minutes. The complainant also produced one pen drive of the said audio clip. On the basis of this complaint, report of the ADA, Ferozepur has been sought and accordingly, the instant FIR was registered. 3. As per allegations, complainant has audio recording of about 07 minutes in his mobile phone, wherein ASI Pargat Singh is demanding the bribe. 4. No case for anticipatory bail is made out. 5. Thus, the present petition is hereby dismissed.
