Debnath, Adv. …for KMC/Respondent The Court: Fundamentally, the present writ petition has been preferred for an order restraining the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (for short, KMC) from taking any steps to demolish a building located at premises No. P66/1/2 Strand Bank Road, P.S. North Port, Kolkata-700007. At the outset, Mr. Mukherjee, learned advocate appearing for the KMC submits that the land on which the building stands belongs to the Port Trust. He submits that the no Official from the KMC has ever approached the land or made any attempt to demolish the building or to evict any person from this building. Learned advocate appearing for the respondent no.5 submits that the Port Trust informs him that the petitioner is an unauthorized occupant 2 of the land owned by the Port Trust and the Port Trust approached him to take appropriate steps to evict them from that building. In view thereof, no further order needs to be passed in this writ petition. Accordingly, the same is dismissed.
