Order on Board 26/09/2026
1. By way of this writ petition, the petitioner has sought for direction to the respondents to issue permanent caste certificate to the petitioner and to set aside the order passed by the Collector, Bilaspur on 08/02/2016 (Annexure P/1).
2. The matter was called up twice for hearing but none appeared on behalf of the petitioner.
3. From perusal of the writ petition, it appears that petitioner was granted admission in B.Sc. Horticulture under Indira Gandhi Krishi University, Raipur in the academic session 2015-16 on the basis of provisional caste certificate issued by the Tahsildar on 30/06/2015. Subsequently, she moved an application for grant of permanent caste certificate, however, it was rejected by the Sub- divisional Officer, Bilaspur by order dated 06/11/2015 which was affirmed by the Collector, Bilaspur vide order dated 08/02/2012 (Annexure P/1). On 26/02/2016, this Court passed an interim
order in favour of the petitioner holding that her admission of the petitioner shall not be cancelled.
4. Having considered the facts and circumstances of the case, petitioner is at liberty to approach the District Level Caste Scrutiny Committee constituted under the provisions of the Chhattisgarh Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward
3 Classes (Regulation of Social Status Certification) Act, 2013 for redressal of her grievance. Looking to the fact that this writ petition is pending since the year 2016, I am not inclined to keep this matter pending further.
5. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of with the aforesaid liberty reserved in favour of the petitioner. Sd/-- Sd/-
