They demanded money to drink liquor. When the complainant refused, the accused persons assaulted him and a bystander using knife and inflicted multiple injuries. On the basis of complaint, police registered afore-stated offence and arrested the applicant. 3. Learned counsel for the applicant submits that medical report of the injured persons has revealed that injuries sustained by them were simple in nature. She further submits that submits that applicant has 01 criminal antecedents u/s 296, 115(2), 351(3) and 3(5) of BNS, 2023 and such antecedent has been duly explained in Part-D (Criminal Antecedents) of the present bail application. She also submits that charge-sheet has been filed and applicant is in jail since 12.06.2026, conclusion of the trial may take some time, therefore, she prays for grant of regular bail to the present applicant. 4. On the other hand, the learned State counsel opposes the bail application and submits that present applicant along with co- accused persons tried to extort money from the complainant and on being refused, assaulted him and a bystander. She further submits that applicant has one previous criminal antecedent, therefore, he is not entitled for grant of regular bail. 3 5. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the case diary. 6. It is alleged that the present applicant and co-accused persons tried to extort money from the complainant on knife point and on being refused, they assaulted the complainant and a bystander. The medical reports of the injured persons have revealed that Ganesh Sonkar (bystander) sustained lacerated wound over the buttocks whereas Lokesh Soni (complainant) sustained simple injury over shoulder. 7. It appears that applicant has one previous criminal antecedent. However, investigation is completed, charge-sheet has been filed and applicant has been in jail since 12.06.2026, the trial is likely to take sometime for its conclusion, I am of the opinion that the applicant is entitled to be released on bail in this case. 8.
