According to them, their claim for promotion is not being considered for want of promotional avenues. Relief sought in the writ petition are as follows: “I. Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondent department to grant promotion to the petitioners by reinstating two posts for environmental engineer as per communication dated 29.03.2010. II. Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondent department to grant promotion to the petitioners effective from the date of promotions of their juniors in accordance with the Government Order dated 11.06.2003 (Annexure No. 14 Page No. 103).” (3) Creation or abolition of posts is the sole discretion of the employer, therefore this Court does not find any good ground to interfere in the matter. (4) Learned Counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioners have made representation to the competent authority for revival of the post, who may be directed to take decision on the same. 2026:UHC:3153-DB (5) Writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of by directing the competent authority to take decision on petitioners’ representation, as per law, within six months from the date of presentation of certified copy of this order.
