Respondents (Cause title, as taken from CIS) For Appellants : Mr. A N Pandey, Advocate For State/Respondent No.1 : Mr. Vinod Tekam, Govt. Adv. (Hon’ble Shri Justice Naresh Kumar Chandravanshi) Order on Board 01/10/2026 1. At the outset, learned counsel for the appellants submits that he does not want to press on I.A. No.02/2024, which is an application seeking permission to covert the criminal appeal into a criminal revision. 2. In view of the above, I.A. No.02/2024 is disposed of as not pressed. 3. The present criminal appeal has been preferred by the appellants under Section 14-A(1) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities Act), 1989 (henceforth, “the Act, 1989”), challenging the order dated 19.01.2024 passed by the learned Special Judge (Atrocity), Bilaspur (CG) in Special Criminal Case No.21/2023 (State of CG vs. Nitesh Singh Thakur and Ors.), whereby the learned Trial Court framed charges against the appellants. 4. Learned counsel for the appellants submits that trial in Special Criminal Case No.21/2023 is on the verge of conclusion. Most of the witnesses have already been examined and, therefore, the present appeal has become infructuous. Therefore, he submits that he does not want to pursue the instant appeal any further and prays that the same may be disposed of accordingly. 5. Learned State counsel has no objection. 3 6. In view of the above submissions, the present Criminal Appeal stands disposed of. 7. Pending interlocutory application(s), if any, also stands disposed of.
