Ms. Mitali Mukherjee Mr. Supriya Majumder ………for the State Mr. Srijan Nayak Mr. Kanak Kiran Bandyopadhyay ………for the WBSEDCL The petitioner seeks a direction not to reject the application for the electricity connection on the ground of non-payment of transformer quotation. On behalf of the WBSEDCL, it is submitted that an initial application has been made the statutory period for making payment has expired and the petitioner can only be granted a fresh electricity connection, if a fresh application is made in accordance with law. In view of the above, no point would be served in keeping the proceeding pending WPA 26767 of 2023 stands disposed of by granting liberty to the petitioner to file a fresh application in accordance with law subject to all statutory compliances. It is made clear that this order should not be construed as acting as a bar on the WBSEDCL in proceeding in accordance with law and taking any coercive measure if so advised in accordance with law.
