And In the matter of : Gouranga Hazari ……Petitioner. Mr. Angshuman Chakraborty Mr. Shashanka Shekhar Saha ……for the Petitioner. Mr. Sagar Saha Ms. Nayona Mukhopadhyay ……for the State. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that he has been implicated in the present case on the basis of alleged recovery of 8.5 Kgs. of Codeine Mixture. Petitioner was arrested on 02.01.2026 and since then he is in custody. There is no possibility of the trial being taken to its logical conclusion as the charge sheet has been submitted very recently. Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail. The case diary reflects that there are 12 cases against the present petitioner which was brought to the notice of the learned Special Court in the forwarding report dated 05.01.2026. 2 Having considered the previous conduct of the present petitioner, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail. Accordingly, prayer for bail of the petitioner in CRM (NDPS) 1817 of 2026 is rejected. All parties shall act in terms of server copy of the order downloaded from the official website of this Court.
