N.22Sl 151/CL 01.09.26 DL-12 Ct.-07 (S.R.) WPA 23310 of 2026 Abbas Ali v. The WBSEDCL & Anr. Mr. Indranil Halder Ms. Neha Singh … for the petitioner. Mr. Kanak Kiran Bandyopadhyay … for the WBSEDCL. 1. The petitioner alleges inaction on the part of the WBSEDCL authorities in effecting electricity supply to the petitioner’s submersible pump. 2. Mr. Bandyopadhyay, learned advocate appearing for the WBSEDCL authorities submits that the petitioner’s application could not be processed further since, upon inspection, it was found that neither had the petitioner constructed the meter room nor was the boring done nor the pump was installed. It is further submitted that a number of poles might be required to be erected for the purpose of effecting supply in favour of the petitioner. 3. Mr. Halder, learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner will complete the formalities and inform the respondent WBSEDCL authorities. 4. Having heard the learned advocates appearing for the respective parties and having considered the material on record, this writ petition is disposed of by leaving the petitioner free to inform the WBSEDCL authorities in writing about the compliances once the same are met. 5. Within one week from the petitioner informing the WBSEDCL authorities about the petitioner’s meeting the requisite compliances, the WBSEDCL authorities shall conduct a fresh inspection. 6. If upon inspection, the WBSEDCL authorities find that the petitioner has complied with the requirements of boring, construction of meter room, and pump installation and that the petitioner is otherwise entitled to electricity supply to the petitioner’s submersible pump, in accordance with law, the WBSEDCL authorities would effect supply in favour of the petitioner within four weeks of the inspection subject to the petitioner paying all requisite charges and costs. 7. With the above observations, WPA 23310 of 2026 stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. 8. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied as expeditiously as possible. (Om Narayan Rai, J.) 2
