For the State Affidavit of service filed on behalf of the petitioners is taken on record. The office of the Pradhan of Hamidpur Gram Panchayat fell vacant upon removal of the Pradhan on 12th August, 2026. The Prescribed Authority, by a notice issued on 14th August, 2026, fixed the date for election of the new Pradhan on 25th August, 2026. However, the meeting was postponed due to non availability of police assistance. Further date of meeting has been fixed on 3rd September, 2026. The petitioners seek a direction upon the police authority to render necessary assistance to the Prescribed Authority so that the meeting is held peacefully without any hindrance. In view of the above, the Officer in Charge, Mothabari Police Station, being the 6th respondent herein, is directed to render necessary assistance to the Prescribed Authority so that the meeting scheduled on 3rd September, 2026 is held peacefully without any disturbance from any corner whatsoever. The police authority shall ensure safe passage of the members to the venue of the meeting so that they are able to cast their votes safely and independently. 2 The writ petition is accordingly disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit has been invited, allegations contained in the writ petition shall be deemed not to have been admitted.
