considering the representation of the petitioners dated
01.04.2026.
2. The petitioners submit that the aforesaid land was acquired for the purposes of the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (for short 'KIADB'), for development of the industrial area. The respondent No.1 issued a notice dated 14.10.2025 determining compensation at a sum of Rs.10,00,000/- per acre. The petitioners filed their objections to the said notice. Thereafter, by an order dated 16.02.2026, the respondent No.1 directed a general award to be passed and to send it to the respondent No.2 for approval. The petitioners contend that the respondent No.2 failed to pass the general award and therefore, the petitioners were constrained to submit a representation dated 01.04.2026. However, the respondent No.2 has not taken any action till date and therefore, the petitioners seek for a direction.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioners reiterated above submissions and submitted that the respondent No.1 is bound to pass a general award and the same has to be approved by respondent No.2 if it is in accordance with law.
