ORAL ORDER (PER: HON'BLE MR. VIBHU BAKHRU, CHIEF JUSTICE)
1. The petitioner has filed the present petition as a public interest litigation, inter alia, praying as under:
“a) Issue a writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate writ,
order or direction directing Respondent No.2 to undertake a comprehensive and time-bound verification and rectification of the electoral rolls proposed to be utilized for municipal elections within Bengaluru;
b) Issue a writ of Mandamus directing Respondent No.2 to implement proper Sectioning in accordance with the Electoral Roll Manual and other applicable guidelines while preparing and maintaining municipal electoral rolls;
c) Issue a writ of Mandamus directing Respondent Nos.2 and 3 to identify and rectify instances of incorrect ward allocation, duplicate voter entries, erroneous address particulars and other systemic defects affecting the electoral rolls;
d) Issue a writ of Mandamus directing Respondent No.2 to publish revised draft electoral rolls upon completion of the rectification exercise and invite objections and suggestions from members of the public before finalization thereof;

e) Issue a writ of Mandamus directing Respondent No.2 to establish a transparent and reasoned mechanism for
consideration and disposal of objections relating to electoral roll discrepancies;
f) Pass such other order or direction as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit to pass in the facts and circumstances of the case, in the interests of justice and equity.”
2. The petitioner's principal grievance is that the voters list which has been published by the authorities, has mapped certain voters from one ward to another.
3. In support of the said contentions, the petitioner has also produced maps showing the location of the addresses, the boundaries of certain wards pointing out that the addresses of such voters falls within another ward.
4. Mr. K.N.Phanindra, learned Senior Counsel appearing for the State Election Commission submits that the voter’s list published is presently undergoing revision pursuant to the exercise of Special Intensive Revision [SIR] being undertaken by the Election Commission of India. He submits that the issue as flagged by the petitioner, if not already considered, shall be addressed in accordance with law.

5. In view of the above, no further orders are required to be passed in this petition.
6. The writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of.
