On the basis of the memorandum statement, Praveen Gupta and two other accused persons were taken into custody. 5) Learned Advocates appearing for the applicants would submit that the applicants have falsely been implicated; the charge-sheet has already been filed, and they are in jail since 24.07.2026. They would further submit that the conclusion of the trial is likely to take a considerable period of time. Mr. Akash Shrivastava, learned Advocate, would submit that Praveen Gupta has one criminal antecedent for commission of an offence punishable under Sections 294 and 322 of the IPC, and there is no criminal antecedent of a similar nature. Thus, they would pray for grant of bail. 6) On the other hand, learned counsel for the State opposes the bail applications and submits that a huge quantity of liquor was seized from the possession of Praveen Gupta. She would further submit that the other accused persons are also involved in the commission of the crime and, therefore, all these applications deserve to be rejected. 7) I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the case diary. 8) Having considered the fact that the charge-sheet has already been filed, the applicants are in jail since 24.07.2026, there is only one
4 criminal antecedent of Praveen Gupta, which was registered in the year 2020, and the conclusion of the trial may take some more time, without commenting upon the merits of the case, I am inclined to grant bail to the applicants.
