This petition is filed challenging proceedings in C.C.no.57072/2016 on file of XI ACMM, Mayo Hall, Bengaluru, arising out of Crime no.391/2016 registered by Banaswadi Police Station for offences punishable under Sections 506, 448 and 504 read with Section 34 of Indian Penal Code, 1860 (IPC).

2. On 21.07.2026, seeing elements of settlement, matter was referred for Mediation. A report is received from Karnataka Mediation Centre that parties have agreed to settle dispute and a Memorandum of Settlement drawn and signed by parties.
3. Respondent no.2 - Complainant, Smt.Menaka Tiruvengadam, appears through VC and is identified by learned counsel for respondent no.2.
4. On interaction, she states that she does not wish to pursue complaint/proceedings and already divorce is granted in M.C.no.4391/2014. She further states that terms of settlement have been explained and after understanding same affirmed it out of free will and volition without there being any threat, coercion or undue influence from anybody.
5. In view of settlement,
learned counsel for petitioners as well as respondent no.2-complainant submit that proceedings in C.C.no.57072/2016 on file of XI ACMM, Mayo Hall, Bengaluru, arising out of Crime no.391/2016 for offences

6. Learned HCGP for respondent no.1-State would submit that all offences are compoundable and taking note of settlement, appropriate orders may be passed.
7. Heard learned counsel and perused material on record.
8. In view of settlement between parties and expression by complainant not to proceed with complaint and conceding for quashing of proceedings, Petition is allowed. Proceedings in C.C.no.57072/2016 on file of XI ACMM, Mayo Hall, Bengaluru, arising out of Crime no.391/2016 registered by Banaswadi Police Station for offences punishable under Sections 506, 448 and 504 read with Section 34 of IPC stands quashed.
