JUSTICE E.S.INDIRESH ORAL ORDER In this writ petition, the petitioner has sought a writ of mandamus directing respondent Nos. 2 to 4 to consider the petitioner's khata application and effect the change of khata in - 3 - HC-KAR CNR: KAHC010600242026 NC: 2026:KHC:47061 WP No. 26982 of 2026 favour of the petitioner, as per Annexure-C dated 14.08.2026, on the basis of the registered Sale Deed dated 18.07.2026 (Annexure-A). 2. Heard Sri M. R. Rajgopal, learned Senior Counsel appearing on behalf of Sri S. V. Thilakraj, learned counsel for the petitioner, and Sri Spoorthy Hegde N., learned High Court Government Pleader appearing for the respondent-State. 3. Sri M. R. Rajgopal, learned Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioner, contended that it is the obligation of respondent No. 4 to enter the name of the petitioner in the revenue records, as the petitioner has purchased the schedule property under the registered Sale Deed dated 18.07.2026 (Annexure-A). In this regard, learned Senior Counsel placed reliance on the order dated 17.01.2025 passed in W.P. No. 847 of 2025 (Annexure-D). 4. In view of the above, and taking into consideration the declaration of law made by this Court, wherein it has been held that it is the duty of respondent No. 4 to effect the khata - 4 - HC-KAR CNR: KAHC010600242026 NC: 2026:KHC:47061 WP No. 26982 of 2026 pursuant to execution of registered instrument, I am of the opinion that the writ petition deserves to be allowed. 5. Accordingly, a writ of mandamus is issued to respondent No. 4 to enter the name of the petitioner in the revenue records in respect of the schedule property, on the basis of the registered Sale Deed dated 18.07.2026, within an outer limit of one month from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
