JUSTICE S VISHWAJITH SHETTY ORAL ORDER Accused No.2 in Crime No.99/2019 registered by the Tavarekere Police Station, Ramanagara for offences punishable under Sections 395 and 397 of IPC, 1860 is before this Court, in this petition, filed under Section 482 of BNSS, 2023 seeking anticipatory bail. 2. Heard learned counsel for the parties. 3. FIR in Crime No.99/2019 was registered by Tavarekere Police Station, Ramanagara for offence punishable under Section 395 of IPC against six unknown persons. Apprehending arrest, petitioner had filed Crl.Misc.No.772/2025 before the jurisdictional Sessions Court which was rejected on 15.10.2025. FIR in the present case was registered against unknown persons based on the first information dated 24.03.2019 received from Mantukumara, S/o. Sri Kantha Chowdari. In the first information, it is stated that, on 24.03.2019, when the first informant who was working as a Manager in a Stone crushing unit, was in his office, six persons who came there, forcibly entered his office and robbed a sum of Rs.45,000/-, after threatening him, with a long, which they had brought with them. When he tried to interfere, they also assaulted on his hand with a long and caused injuries. While escaping from the spot along with the sum of Rs.45,000/-, they had snatched two mobile phones, which was used by the first informant. It is under these circumstances, FIR was registered against 6 unknown persons. 5. During the course of investigation, some of the accused were arrested and after completing investigation, charge sheet is filed against 6 persons and the petitioner is arrayed as accused No.2 in the charge sheet in which he - 4 - HC-KAR CNR: KAHC010454852026 NC: 2026:KHC:47146 CRL.P No. 9862 of 2026 is shown as absconding. Therefore, split up case was registered against the petitioner in CC No.5877/2022 by the Jurisdictional Court of Magistrate and coercive steps were taken against him apprehending arrest in the case. He had approached the Jurisdictional Sessions Court in Crl.Misc.No.772/2025, which was rejected on 15.10.2025. 6. The learned Addl. State Public Prosecutor has brought to the notice of this Court that, in addition to the present case, petitioner is involved in other cases where the allegations are similar and accused are also common. Therefore, it is apparent that the petitioner and the other accused named in the present case are involved in multiple cases of similar nature. Learned Addl. SPP has also brought to the notice of this Court that even in the other criminal cases registered against the petitioner by the very same police station, he has not appeared before the courts and therefore split-up case was registered against him. - 5 - HC-KAR CNR: KAHC010454852026 NC: 2026:KHC:47146 CRL.P No. 9862 of 2026 7. Considering the aforesaid aspects of the matter, I am of the opinion that the petitioner's prayer for grant of anticipatory bail needs to be rejected. Accordingly, criminal petition is dismissed.
