1. The present application is filed seeking the impleadment of Indian Bank, represented by its Managing Director, as Proforma Respondent by striking off the names of Allahabad Bank and its Deputy General Manager/Chief Executive Officer from the array of parties. 2. The learned counsel for the applicants submits that the Reserve Bank of India, by a press release dated 28.03.2020, had notified the amalgamation of the Allahabad Bank with the Indian Bank. 3. In view of the aforesaid amalgamation, Allahabad Bank ceases to exist as a separate legal entity, and all its assets and liabilities vest in the Indian Bank. Accordingly, the
Page No.# 3/4 learned counsel prays for impleading the Indian Bank in place of Allahabad Bank. 4. On perusal of the pleadings as well as the materials available on record, we are of the opinion that the aforesaid Indian Bank is required to be impleaded as proforma respondent Nos. 2 & 3 in place of the existing respondents in the connected Writ Appeal for its proper adjudication. 5. The prayer for impleadment stands allowed. 6.
Accordingly, the Indian Bank, represented by its Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Corporate Office, PB No.5555, 254-260, Avvai Shanmugam Salai, Royapettah, Chennai-600 014 be impleaded as respondents by striking off the name of Allahabad Bank and its Deputy General Manager. 7. The applicants shall provide a fresh memo of parties to the Registry within one week, with an advance copy to be furnished to all the learned counsel for the parties.
