Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to Respondent Nos. 1 to 3, SECL, for grant of employment in lieu of the land acquired by the Central Government for SECL under the Coal Bearing Areas (Acquisition and Development) Act. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, after verification by the State Government, SECL issued a public notice, vide Annexure P/2 dated 14.03.2023, inviting objection from the General Public. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, as all the formalities have been completed, the writ petition may be disposed of with a direction to SECL to
3 consider the grievance of the petitioner upon submission of a representation within a stipulated period and to take appropriate steps in terms of Annexures P/1 and P/2 for grant of employment to the petitioner, being a family member of the land oustee whose land has been acquired.

Learned counsel appearing for SECL has no objection to the
submissions made by learned counsel for the petitioner. He further submits that, if the petitioner submits a fresh representation before Respondent No. 3, the same shall be considered in accordance with law, keeping in view Annexures P/1 and P/2, and necessary orders regarding grant of employment shall be passed within a period of three months.
3. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused Annexures P/1 and P/2.

Annexure P/1 is a communication issued by the Additional Collector to the General Manager, SECL, Gevra Area, regarding the claim of the petitioner, Gaurav Singh, for employment in lieu of the land acquired by SECL. Further, in the public notice issued by SECL, the name of the petitioner appears at Serial No. 5. In view thereof, the petitioner is directed to approach Respondent No. 3 by filing a representation, along with all
4 necessary details and documents, within a period of 15 days from today.

In case such representation is filed by the petitioner within the aforesaid period, Respondent No. 3 shall consider and decide the same after due verification of the candidature of the petitioner, in accordance with Annexures P/1 and P/2 and the applicable policy of SECL, and shall pass an appropriate order regarding grant of employment within a period of two months from the date of receipt of the representation.
6. The writ petition is accordingly disposed of with the aforesaid directions. Sd/-
