1. Mr. Susheel Kumar, learned counsel holding the brief of Mr. Gaurav Singh,
learned counsel for the petitioners.
2. Mr. B.C. Joshi, learned A.G.A. for the State.
3. Petitioners Palvi, D/o Devendra Kumar and Shivam Chaudhary, S/o Khemchand are praying for protection since there is threat perception from respondent nos. 3 and 4 brother of petitioner no. 1.
4. Both the petitioners are present thorough V.C. and submits that there is regular threat perception from respondent no. 3 and 4.
5. It is contended that both the petitioners are major according to their date of birth and both were in love and married on 21.03.2026 at Roorkee District Haridwar and their marriage is also registered on 28.03.2026 copy of which is enclosed as annexure no. 1. It is also submitted that a representation has been made by the petitioners to the S.S.P. Haridwar with regard to the said threat.
6. Admittedly, both the petitioners are major and if there is threat perception from respondent no. 3 and 4 the police administration shall assess the threat perception, if any, and take appropriate steps.
7. In view of the above the instant writ petition is disposed of finally with the direction to the S.S.P. Haridwar to assess the threat perception of the petitioners from respondent nos. 3 and 4 and if he comes to the conclusion that there is any threat perception take appropriate steps to save
2026:UHC:3043 their life and liberty. Simultaneously, the S.H.O. concerned shall also call upon respondent nos. 3 and 4 and advise them not to take law in their hands.
