1. Heard Mr. Ponda, learned Senior Advocate for Applicant and Ms. Phad, learned APP for Respondent No.2 – State.
2. The Union of India who is Respondent No.1 is the principal Respondent. On 08.07.2026, notice has already been issued to them. None is present for Respondent No.1 when the matter is called out.
3. The Interim Application cannot be adjourned further for non- presence of the Counsel for the Union of India.
4. Mr. Ponda, learned Senior Advocate appearing for the Applicant would persuade me to consider that the Applicant is a professional pilot staying in Dubai and is required to possess a valid passport for the performance of his professional duties as also 1 of 2
14.IA.1806.2026.doc compliance with National and International Aviation Regulations and for the sake of continuity of his employment as also to safeguard his livelihood is required to have a valid passport. He has hence requested me to consider his case for seeking NOC and renewal of his passport. I have perused the record. I am of the clean opinion that there can be no impediment whatsoever in allowing the present Application in terms of prayer clauses (a) and (b). The Application therefore stands allowed in terms of prayer clause (a) and (b) which read thus:-
“a. This Hon’ble Court may be pleased to grant permission / no objection to renew his passport bearing No. P9068035 to the Applicant in accordance with the prescribed law on any such terms and conditions as this Hon’ble Court may deem fit and proper; b. This Hon’ble Court may be pleased to direct to the appropriate passport office to issue and / or renew passport of the Applicant in accordance with the prescribed law on any such terms and conditions as this Hon’ble Court may deem fit and proper.”
5. Needless to state that the renewal of the passport / re- issuance of the passport will be done by the appropriate Authorities in accordance with law.
6. With the above directions, Interim Application is allowed and
disposed of.
