(2) According to petitioner, he was engaged as Lab Attendant, on contract, in a project in Department of Biotechnology in Kumaon University in 2007 and thereafter in 2009, he was engaged as Chowkidar on contract in the Kumaon University and he is thereafter serving continuously as Chowkidar to the satisfaction of all concerned, but his claim for regularisation is not being considered. (3) Learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that other similarly situate employees have been regularised in the service of University in the year 2026 by completely ignoring petitioner’s claim. By means of this writ petition, petitioner has sought a direction to the competent authority to consider his claim for regularisation. (4) Per contra, Mr. Rajeev Singh Bisht, learned Counsel appearing for the University, submits that petitioner is not similarly situate to employees who were regularised in 2026. He, however, assures that the competent authority will look into the claim of the petitioner sympathetically and take decision on petitioner’s representation within six weeks from today. (5) In view of the aforesaid statement, which is taken on record, the writ petition is disposed of.
