By presenting this writ petition prayer is made for directing police authorities to take steps which would protect right of petitioner over land in question. It is alleged that encroaching petitioner’s land road is constructed by some persons requiring police intervention and complaint was lodged on 23rd June, 2026 before the concerned police authorities. 3. Learned advocate representing State respondents has filed a communication dated 20th August, 2026 of Officer-in-Charge, Jagatballavpur Police Station and same is taken on record. Copy of communication dated 20th August, 2026 is made over to learned advocate representing petitioner. 2 4. It is disclosed in communication that after petitioner approached the police authority one General Diary was made on 13th May, 2026. Subsequently, on enquiry Non Cognizable Report was submitted dated 4th June, 2026. 5. Concerned police authorities are directed to maintain peace and tranquility at the locale. If petitioner finds that his land is being encroached unauthorisedly by local persons in that event petitioner shall be at liberty to approach appropriate forum/authority in pursuit of remedy. Police authority is not the appropriate authority to decide inter se right of the parties over the land in question. 6. Writ petition stands disposed of. 7.
