The petitioner has filed the present Criminal Writ Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India with a prayer to issue a writ in the nature of Certiorari for quashing of the impugned order dated 12.08.2026 (Annexure P-6) passed by respondent No.1, whereby the pre-mature release case of the petitioner has been rejected, without following the policy (Annexure P-2) in its true letter and spirit and by completely overlooking the order (Annexure P-5), whereby his co-accused Gurdit Singh alias Baljita son of Nirmal Singh has been ordered to be released on pre-mature. 2. On advance notice, Mr.M.S.Bajwa, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, appears and accepts notice on behalf of the official respondents and on instructions from Gurdeep Singh, Law Officer, submits that in the present case, respondent No.1 has decided to reconsider the case of the petitioner in the light of the policy (Annexure P-2) and the order (Annexure P-5) passed by respondent No.1.
